It’s that time of year. My morning cup of coffee tastes better because it’s cold outside, the days are getting shorter, and my mind can’t help but think about the new year. I know, it’s not even Christmas, but I’m a planner and I’ve got a job to do before the first of the year that requires time and focus.

I get energized when the calendar is almost ready to flip to the new year. It’s the hope of fresh things to come, the belief that the coming year is going to bring about change in me, and it’s when I choose my word for the year.

It’s a tradition I’ve practiced for over 18 years. I choose a word with careful consideration, study it, ruminate on it and even make a Spotify play list to go with it…all before January 1st. Then I strive to master it for the next 12 months.

I’ve chosen words that have challenged me like CHANGE and REDEEMED, and words that have been joyful like FUN and PEACE. I always choose a word that I’m lacking, that I need more of, that I believe if mastered, would bring about growth and more purpose in my life. I’m always looking for more purpose.

I had no idea when I chose REDEEMED that I would publish a book about mastering that word of the year. The experience was life changing for me, writing about it was inevitable. Have you read my book about that year yet? You’ll want to. It might inspire you to choose a word this year!

I’ve been passionate about helping other people chose a word for the year too. Years ago, I spent time creating a step-by-step guide to help others go through the same process I use. It’s FREE and available on my web site. I hope you’ll download it and have the same response as others who have used it to choose their word.

Here’s what I’m hearing;

“I had no idea that choosing a word could be so exciting.”

“I thought I knew what word I’d choose until I went through your guide and it led me down a whole other path, one that I need to be on.”

“Thank you, Letha, for creating this guide, it was so easy to follow, yet so profound. I chose a word that I’ve been lacking my whole life.”

“Choosing a word for the year has changed my life in every way. Thank you for inspiring me.”

If you haven’t chosen YOUR word for the year, I hope you will download my guide and use it to choose the best word possible for 2024. Choosing a word and focusing on it for the year can and will be life changing for you. I know because it has been for me. Choose a word as if it matters…because it does! Who knows, you might even write a book about it!

Check back before the end of the year, I’ll tell you about my word for 2024!

Always encouraging you,

Letha
